How Much Did The JCB Golf Course Cost?

 JCB Golf Course Cost

You may be familiar with the JCB Golf and Country Club if you are a golf enthusiast. Completed in 2018, the golf club and new course offer a championship experience that has attracted golf legends from the Legends Tour as well as internet celebrities Good Good and Rick Shiels.

However, developing a course of this calibre with the long-term goal of hosting a PGA Tour event can't come cheap. Tell me, how much did it set you back to construct that JCB golf country club?

Let's dig in deeper to the endeavour and find out what it takes to construct such a magnificent golfing facility.

JCB Golf And Country Club

A short distance from their Staffordshire headquarters, digger giant JCB opened the JCB Golf and Country Club in 2018.

With a par of 72 and a length of 7308 yards, this championship course is worthy of a PGA Tour stop and offers breathtaking scenery and a stern test of golf.

JCB, a giant in the construction equipment business, invested heavily in state-of-the-art technology to create a golf course with the lofty goal of turning it into a promotional tool rather than a playground for amateurs.

They hope to host a PGA Tour event there within the next few years because they believe it would significantly increase their global visibility in the US construction market.

The country club is a representation of the company's global offerings, including JCB products, and a showcase of the company's capabilities.

European Golf Design and the legendary Robin Hiseman were responsible for the course's breathtaking scenery and verdant terrain.

The clubhouse and hotel at the championship course are both luxurious and well-appointed. Members of the club have access to ten luxurious lodges located at various points across the golf course.

After a long day on the links, guests can unwind in one of the lodges' four private bedrooms with en suite bathrooms.

An accomplished golf instructor who formerly worked at Dubai's world-famous Butch Harmon School of Golf oversees the club's top-tier golf academy and driving range.

Including a putting and chipping green, this first-rate golf academy is fully equipped to serve as a professional golfer's ideal place of instruction.

The JCB is a challenging course with expansive green complexes and recognisable architecture, making it a true test.

Tournament stars like Vijay Singh, John Daly, Retief Goosen, and eventual champion Alex Cejka competed in the JCB Championship, which was played on the same course as the Legends Tour event.

How To Play The JCB Golf Country Club?

At the moment, the golf club is not open to the general public. From its inception in 2018 until its public debut in September 2019, membership has been extremely limited.

Only corporations are eligible for membership at the JCB Golf and Country Club, setting it apart from even the most exclusive courses in the world.

These are only given to the most important JCB clients, suppliers, and retailers. Membership will start at a hefty £20,000 per year for the select few corporations, and each member will be allotted a certain number of rounds per year.

Company outings, hosting guests, and charity tournaments are all acceptable uses of these rounds, but you may not resell them for profit.

Tee times at JCB are extremely difficult to come by, even if you are a top dog or a famous face, unless you know a member.

In contrast to the typical private golf club, JCB has no plans to expand its membership. To raise the company's profile internationally, they've decided to build a golf course worthy of hosting major tournaments.

I wish you the best of luck in securing a round, and if you do, by all means get in touch.

How Much Did The JCB Golf Course Cost?

How much did it set you back to build this magnificent golf course? Of course, you can imagine the price tag was rather hefty. The JCB Golf and Country Club reportedly cost £30 million to build, with no costs spared.

In spite of the high price tag, a truly remarkable golfing destination and vacation destination has been created.

The smooth greens and rolling fairways make this golf course a dream. Stunning views can be found all around the course's sweeping fairways and 240 acres of land.

They set out to create something out of the ordinary, something that would catch the attention of the world. The perfect place for serious golfers to unwind and have fun.

The course's signature hole, No. 17, is a prime illustration of the exceptional quality of this layout. Finding the putting surface on this long par 3 to an island green is an enormous challenge, but it is arguably one of the most beautiful holes ever designed.

It has been compared to the 17th at TPC Sawgrass. This golf course's absolute beauty is encapsulated by its island green in the middle of a lake.

JCB Golf Club Green Fees

There is a strict no-guests policy at the JCB golf country club. As a result, there are no significant green fees coming into the club.

Greens fees can be auctioned off as prizes for charitable causes, and members are required to be corporations. This means that the price is highly variable from auction to auction.

It's possible that JCB employees might get weekend passes to use the facility. The base rate is £60, and the cost per guest is £70.

Evidently, green fees at JCB golf courses are difficult to come by.

Final Thoughts

There's no denying the fact that a round of golf at JCB's club is one you won't soon forget. Only a few months after opening, it hosted a major tour event with many of the sport's all-time greats. The course is of the highest quality, and it's clear that Robin Hiseman worked very hard on it.

Costs associated with the new golf club were not small. But JCB was prepared to spend whatever it took to build their dream country club.

What they have now is a golf course worthy of hosting a major tour event. Since the best senior golfers in the world have already played there, it's not out of the question that the sport's biggest and best stars will do the same.

Getting on the green might be easier at a nearby course like Uttoxeter Golf Club.

Have you ever been to Augusta National? It's another famous golf course, but do you know where it is and how to get in?
